Bin Zhang 張濱

Bin Zhang was born in Liaoning Province, China, and was an active performer with the National Nanjing Frontline Performing Arts Troupe.
In 1992, he moved to Japan and earned degrees in composition from Nagoya University of the Arts and Aichi University of the Arts. In 2000, he became the first erhu artist to receive an Artist Visa in Japan. Following the success of a large-scale erhu ensemble performance at the Aichi Expo, he founded the “Sakura Erhu Concert,” which he led for 20 consecutive years. His performances at the Shanghai Expo and in cities including Tianjin, Beijing, and Nanjing have been widely covered by major Chinese media outlets such as CCTV, People’s Daily, and Xinhua News Agency.
He currently serves as the Special Cultural Ambassador for Nagoya City and Executive Council Member of the Jiangsu Overseas Friendship Association. In 2023, he was honored with Japan’s Foreign Minister’s Commendation. Zhang is the president of the NPO “Bin Zhang Erhu Ensemble,” director of the “Bin Zhang Erhu Academy,” a guest professor at Nagoya University of the Arts, and a special council member of the Erhu Society under the Chinese Musicians’ Association.
張濱出生於中國遼寧省,曾活躍於中國國立南京前線歌舞團。
1992年赴日本,畢業於名古屋藝術大學,愛知縣立藝術大學研究生作曲專業。2000年,他在日本獲得首位“二胡藝術家簽證”。在愛知世博會成功舉辦大型二胡合奏後,他創辦了“櫻之二胡音樂會”,並持續舉辦20年。此外,他還在上海世博會,以及天津、北京、南京等其演出活動被中國中央電視台(CCTV)、人民日報、新華社等多家主流媒體廣泛報導。
現任名古屋市觀光文化交流特別大使、江蘇省海外聯誼會常務理事,榮獲2023年日本外務大臣獎。現擔任特定非營利活動法人“張濱二胡演奏團”理事長、“張濱二胡學院”院長,中國音樂家協會二胡學會特邀理事,名古屋藝術大學客座教授。
